Once Upon a Dream

Once Upon a Dream

A Poem by SpitfireGrrrl
"

An older piece re-worked a bit.

"
once upon a time...
I would have.
would have given you
Everything.
laid my heart at
your feet.
placed my Soul in
your hands.
once upon a time...
I was young.
awakened, Tamed
For that brief,
brief shining moment.
But you left me,
and I wandered, and wasted away.
once upon a time...
I would have
Given it all..
My very breath!
just to hear those words
fall from your lips.
Once upon a time,
I was naive, and just,
just,
a little lost.
Now? Now I don't need you.
Do you see?
I am grown, and Content
I am Strong, and at peace
I am everything I need to be.
I made me.
Once upon a time...
was just a silly girls Dream.

Nicely said. The repetition adds to the meaning.

.
. beautiful title ... and a magical poem that follows the beautiful title ... my favourite line is ... "i made me" ... it's sheer genius and simply unforgettable ... women all over the world need to read this ... it's anthemic ... the more we believe in ourselves ... the more we can be ... thank you for this uplifting message ... (love the way the s of Strong is upper case and everything is italicized) ...
