Letter of Resignation

Letter of Resignation

A Poem by SpitfireGrrrl

Dear Sir, I think it’s time

Time for me to let you know

That things have gotten

Just a little…

Out of hand.

I’m afraid I have to go

You see, I’ve found

Myself.

Oh, I know, it’s ok-

You did well!

But you see…

Your time is over.

I’ve learned it all.

Everything that you had

To give

Or push

Is now inside me.

I took your demon Duty

I made her my own

I caught your viper Obligation,

She sleeps with me "

Just not around my neck.

Unfortunately, your Guilt…

Well, he’s a little worse for wear.

You can have him back,

I’m afraid we’ll never get on.

Oh, now now

Be Brave little boy!

Don’t weep man-Child

I’m not your judge

This isn’t your trial!

I learned well,

Although it took too long

I’ll leave the chains behind

For you to remember me by.
