Listening to God

Listening to God

A Poem by SpitfireGrrrl

you whispered my name
in the mikvah, in the temple

you whispered my name
in the desert, in the mosque

you whispered my name
on your knees, in the church

Father, Allah, Adonai
Lord, El, Al-Rahim

Sons and Daughters
of Abraham...

all of those whispers
came to Me.

SpirfireGrrrl....Darn, looking below Anto went all out there, tongues, bible, took the words right out of my mouth. Seriously, if we listen God will guide us. Thought it was very nice. Thank you - Dale

My pleasure!
This really caused a flux in my space-time continuum because it could be taken either way. In fact any way. The first thing I thought was of the universal message but then why all the different tongues/languages. Then I wondered about the mention of speaking in tongues in the Bible and whether that was deemed a good thing or not. Don't priests who do 'exorcisms' often say that a sign of demonic possession is when the subject speaks in tongues?
That kind of thinking clashed big-time with my Catholic upbringing - to the point of feeling blasphemous.
Its not easy being mere mortal and 'Listening to God'.

Good write SpitFireGrrl.
