Railing

Railing

A Poem by SpitfireGrrrl

I've spent half my life
railing at one god
or another.

(sometimes, I think,
just to hear myself)

my tears have soaked
the roots of Yggdrasil
and washed blood stains
away from the Christ

my sacrifices have fed
Erebus, Ghede, and Izanami
till they are sated, plump
and full from my grief.

(my tables are bare
from their gluttony)

surely, by now
my blood covers
every altar, every god-
at least enough - just enough
for peace?

I am tired, so tired

for I've spent half my life
railing at one god
or another.

~ excruciating... and immensely moving work... as all heartfelt and truly exquisite poetry is... ~ i think sometimes that God is a personification of positive energy and hope... not so much an entity... ~ we will cross the bloody bridge of bloodbaths together... :)
