Chapter 33 of Completed

Hiroyuki was eating dinner with Kura’s family in a large dining room. Hiroyuki and Kura were sitting across from Kura’s parents. They were seated at a long glossy brown dining table. The table was filled with expensive dishes. There were maids and butlers on standby. They had towels draped over their arms. Hiroyuki had a plate of medium rare steak in front of him. He picked up a silver fork and knife. He used the fork to stab the steak in place. Then he used the knife to cut the steak. Once he cut a piece of the steak, he used the fork to pick it up. He ate the steak and thought, “I used to enjoy eating steak at their house but now it’s leaving a foul taste in my mouth.”

 Kata said, “Hiroyuki, how are you liking your dinner?” Hiroyuki forced out a smile and said, “It’s delicious.” Akio said, “Of course it is. We made sure that chefs made your favorite foods for dinner. After dinner, do you want to go golfing with me?” Kata coughed and said, “Honey, I am sure Hiroyuki and Kura want to spend time together. We shouldn’t interrupt their time together.” Akio laughed and said, “You’re right, dear! We can always golf another time Hiroyuki!”

Hiroyuki got up from the table and said, “I feel a bit tired. I’m sorry but I’m going to excuse myself from dinner. Thank you for dinner.” Kata smiled and said, “Go ahead.” He walked out of the dining room and headed upstairs. Kura stood up and said, “I will excuse myself too, mother and father.” Akio saw that Kura barely touched her food and said in a concerned tone, “But Kura, you didn’t eat much of your food.” Kata stepped on his foot and said, “It’s okay Kura! You can go now.” Akio shouted, “Why did you have to step on my foot so hard?!!” Kata said, “You idiot! Kura didn’t eat much because she was nervous. Can’t you see that she wants to spend more time with Hiroyuki?”

Akio scratched his head and said, “You think so?” Kata said confidently, “I know so.” Kura walked upstairs to Hiroyuki’s room and she opened the door. She sees Hiroyuki reading a book while sitting in a chair. Kura sits down on the bed and stares at Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki slams the book shut and said in an irritated tone, “I can’t believe your mother went as far to confiscate everything I had and supervise every form of communication I attempt to use in your house. I am not allowed to use any technology on my own unless someone is watching me. How much longer do I have to go through this?”

Kura smiles and said, “Till we get married.” Hiroyuki slams his fist on the armrest and said, “Are you kidding me?” Kura said, “My parents already planned for us to get married once I turned 18.” He gritted his teeth and exclaimed, “That’s so soon! Your birthday is in a month!”

Kura gets up from the bed and hugs him from behind the chair. She whispered in his ear, “I don’t get why you’re making such a fuss about it. Don’t you still have feelings for me? Shouldn’t you be happy that it’s going to be official?” Hiroyuki gripped tightly onto the armrest and his lips were tightening from the discomfort of her words. He looked down onto the floor and said in an upset tone, “I don’t have feelings for you anymore!! I love someone else!”

She snickered and said in a mocking tone, “I know that the person you love currently is Eiko but will Eiko return your feelings? You’re not even sure how she really feels about you. It’s just a one-sided love.” He gripped tighter onto the armrest and his face made a devastated expression. Kura released her arms from him and walked in front of him. She witnessed his expression and said, “I never saw you make that kind of expression before. I never thought that you would love another person as much as you loved me. You must treasure her but that’s going to end shortly, you should focus on loving me again. I can help you forget all about her.” She places her hand on his cheek. 

He used his arm to push her hand away. He looked at Kura with eyes full of wrath and rage. Kura felt intimidated by his facial expression. She slowly walked away from him. Hiroyuki grabbed her arm and cried out, “I don’t want to love you ever again! I don’t want to go through our toxic relationship again. I know that you never once loved me. You’re just obeying your parents’ orders. Stop being a coward and admit how you really feel about this whole situation!” He let go of her arm and stormed out of the room. 

Kura clenched her hands and she slumped onto the ground. Her face looked dejected. She said to herself, “What am I supposed to do? I can’t go against my parents’ orders.” 

Hiroyuki started wandering around the mansion. He looked through each of the rooms for some clues about how to leave. He tried to open the windows but the windows were sealed shut. He thought about 

breaking the windows but saw security guards patrolling the area. While looking out the window, he said to himself, “I can’t leave from the front or back door. I can’t contact anyone for help because Kata confiscated my phone. Even if I could somehow get outside help, no one can go against the power of the Fujiwara family. There’s got to be a way but I am stuck.” He grunted and slams his fist against the window.  

He starts staring at his reflection in the window and rethinking on the events that happened at the party. He thought about how beautiful Eiko looked in her navy blue dress. He also thought about how Eiko ran after him and tried to stop him from going into Kata’s limo. Then when Eiko shouted out: “Hiroyuki!! What are you doing, going along with this??!!” His heart began to ache. He held his right hand onto his chest and gripped onto his shirt. 

He slammed his left fist onto the window again and murmured, “I’m such an idiot. What was I thinking going along with them? I had no plan. All I wanted was to leave that embarrassing situation. And the worst of all, I left without saying a word to Eiko. I’m going to hurt her again.”
