Chapter 19 of Completed

Hiroyuki instantly recognized the voice and his face turned pale. He couldn’t turn around. Eiko recognized the girl. It was the same girl from earlier. She looked at Rie, Eiko and Itsuki. She said in a ruthless tone, “As always, you hang out with these kind of people. You never change.” Rie was in shock and was about to say something. Eiko gestured her to not.

Hiroyuki stayed quiet. The girl looked at her watch and said, “Oh, it looks like I got to go now. See you soon, Hiroyuki. You know that you can’t avoid me forever.” She starts to walk off and looks with cold eyes at Itsuki, Rie and Eiko. Eiko’s eyes met with the girl’s eyes for a moment. The girl was gone. Itsuki and Rie ran up to Hiroyuki. Eiko walked off somewhere. Itsuki said in a concerned voice, “Are you okay? Did that girl do something to you?” Rie looked worried and told Hiroyuki to sit down.

He sat down. Rie said, “Where did Eiko go?” Eiko came back with warm tea. She gave him the tea. Hiroyuki takes the tea and thanks her. She said, “I don’t know what happened between you and that girl. But I hope that warm tea can calm you down.” He stares into the tea and sees his reflection.

He takes a sip and said in a sorrowful voice, “That girl was my ex. Her name is Kura. Since childhood, we been together. We started to have feelings for one another and eventually dated in our last year of middle school. Things started to change. When I decided to go to our high school and we separated our own ways. We still kept in contact but we slowly started to distance away from one another. She changed into someone I couldn’t recognize. She became cold-hearted. She dated other guys behind my back. I just loved her so much that I couldn’t let her go. She kept abusing me emotionally and mentally. She kept playing with my feelings and constantly lying to me. It really broke me. She said that she only loved me because of the image I had in school. She didn’t like me having all these “insignificant” feelings. I thought we were something but I guess it was just me.”

Itsuki and Rie felt sad about what he said. They had no idea what to say to comfort him. Eiko walked closer to Hiroyuki. He looks up at her with heartbroken eyes. She slowly opens her arms and embraces him. She begins to stroke and pat his back gently. He started to cry a bit and wrapped his arms around her. Rie and Itsuki were stunned by Eiko’s actions. Eiko said softly, “It will be okay. Just let it all out. You won’t be hurt anymore. We are all here for you.” Hiroyuki was touched by her words and he couldn’t stop tearing up. He finally felt relieved and freed from his past in that moment. He closed his eyes and felt safe in her arms.
