Proud of me

Proud of me

Mom, are you proud, if you watch as I pray?
Solid and determined will I strive every day.

Dad are you proud, as you see me achieve
all the goals of my youth. As I seek and believe.

Are you proud of me uncle, when I do as you say?
Do you really love when I touch you that way?

Are you proud of me teacher, as you watch my grades fall?
As you yell and you scream. As I fail at them all.

Are you proud of me my friends? I do as you done.
Inhale, and high, in the name of false fun.

Are you proud of me God, as you sit on your throne?
I feel your tears fall. I am the unknown.

Are you proud of me law? I went in for the kill.
But I stopped and looked, through strength of God's will.

Are you proud of me mom? See, I gave it for you.
I went to seek help. It is all I could do.

Are you proud of me dad, as I look in your eyes.
I see only a hood. Your love is disguised.

Are you proud of me doctor? I took my first step.
I watched your eyes grow proud. I was he'd as you wept.

Are you proud of me nurse? I leave here today.
You gave me a future. You gave me more days.

Are you proud of me life? I stand once again, tall.
I love now, and proudly, never again to fall...

Are you proud of me wife? There's so much you don't know.
But please, be proud. Look. I learned to sew.
