![]() Chapter OneA Chapter by David HarveyIt was nighttime now and rain was pouring down looking like it was never going to stop. Trees swaying back and forth hitting the window hard as if someone was trying to break in. One of the trees in front of the window casted a shadow on the window as if a monster with razor sharp claws was trying to break in. This scared David cause he did not like monsters and was used to hiding under the blankets during thunderstorms. David had just eaten supper and was bored out of his mind trying to think of something to do until he had to go to bed. He had just remembered that he had bought the coin from the shop early this morning. He picking the coin up looking at it still trying to figure out what the strange writings on the side of it were. Did they mean something? Were they some kind of warning? Studying the coin close David flipped it and nothing happened. He tried to pronounce the writing on the coin and nothing happed to.
"I know," David though to himself. I'll try rubbing the coin. So he took a firm grip on the coin and he rubbed it back and forth with his fingers closing his eyes. "Bang," a loud noise filled the room and the room started moving. Papers and toys flying everywhere. David didn't know what was going on. He just knew he was scared as hell and he wanted it all to stop.
"Ahhhhhhh!' yelled David covering his eyes. And all of a sudden everything went blank and David passed out.
David awoke to the sound of people talking and shouting, animals, and the sound of the town. He was still shaking from all the spinning and loud noises that had happened in his room not to long ago. He was curled up in a ball his head tucked in between his knees not wanting to move a muscle. As David un curled himself he noticed that he wasn't in his bedroom anymore. "Where the heck was he?," he had though to himself. He noticed that he was in some kind of village where people were plowing and farming. Markets on the corner streets and kids running around. He thought it might have been the past like in the medieval times. But there could be no way he could teleport back in time. It was not possible because there isn't any technology on the planet capable of doing that. He got up and started walking around trying to figure out where he was. David followed a stone path that led him into the middle of town. A nose caught his attention and he turned to only find a strange three headed animal running after a furry looking animal. It kind of looked like a dog but with scale looking skin with the color of roaring fire and a tail that was long and had a spike at the end of it. Its eyes were fierce looking as if it was some sort of demonic animal sent from hell to kill this poor furry animal. After the demonic dog had caught the furry animal it tore it apart limb by limb throwing it about. Flesh being torn apart as the guts slushed out from its body. The demonic animal then did something disgusting that David could not bare to look at. It spit out long tongue and began to lick and suck up the blood from the other animals body. It didn't just lick it up. It licked it up like it was some sort of drug. Like giving candy to a child. It must have the crave for blood. He walked away knowing he had to find out where he was because he did not want to stay here any longer not knowing if he would ever see his family again.
"Excuse me," David started saying trying to get the villagers attention. "Can anyone tell me where I am?," he said. It seemed like no one was paying attention to him. Like he was some kind of ghost or something. This made David nervous because he was used to being ignored at home and in school. Freaking out David ran around asking people where he was but no one responded. They went about there business like any other day. He finally went up to a man sitting on a bench by the well. He looked kind of sick and wore torn robes. He had cuts and bruises on his legs and arms as if someone had beaten him to death.
"Can you tell me where I am Sir?," asked David. The man looked down at David with a angry face as if he had done something wrong. "Why don't you know young man?," asked the man looking confused as if David had been here forever. "I woke up in the field and was scared because I have never been here in my life. I just came to this place without knowing how I got here and I'm trying to find my way back home. So can you please tell me where I am?," said David. "You are in the small town called Balmour," replied the man. Balmour was a small town that did a lot of farming, merchant trading, and training. It was beautiful in the spring time and hot in the summer. Sight seeing was amazing if you liked the wilderness and camping. It was far from the main town and it was neighbors of small towns just like its own.
"If you have any questions you can talk to the local hero in town," suggested the man. "Local hero?," asked David. He did not ever know of a hero before. Not even met one before. "Yeah his name is Spike004!," shouted the man. "He has saved this town many times and we honor him and give him our lives. If you ever have a problem or are in trouble, you should go visit him. He will help you in any way he can" "Where can I find his house?," asked David jumping up in a hurry to get there and get home. "He lives by the old church in the field," said the man getting up and walking away.
"This was great," thought David making his way the Spike004 house in a hurry. He was so sure he could help him and get him back home to see his family. What was this Spike004 like?," he thought to himself. And onward he goes to see the person that may be his only hope to getting back home.
