Preface/IntroductionA Chapter by Darkness LurkingThe beggining of the story.. Well, not really. More like the endish...
“Haven,” David placed a hand on her shoulder. Flinching, Haven pulled her knees to her chest, and curled up into a ball, squeezing herself to fit the corner of the chair. “Haven…”
He shook his head softly, swirling his shiny black hair around his face. Haven ripped her shoulder from his hand, dragging her nails across his skin. Red oozed from where her nails scraped. Biting his lower lip, he ignored the hand and jabbed a finger at Haven.
Still, she only dug herself deeper into the side of the chair.
“You’re games are tiring, Haven!” David shouted, grabbing her arm, which shook with fear. Haven didn’t answer. Instead, she reached into the shelf next to the chair, and grabbed a math-compass.
David didn’t notice the compass in her hand, however, for his interest was now on the half-dead teacher bleeding in the corner of the room. She coughed, blood splattering the floor around her. Tears were streaming down her face, mixing with the blood from her wounds and creating a gooey mask of red around her. Other than that, she sat motionless and quietly, watching the scene unfolding before her.
Grinning at her, David shook his head, some-what sympathetically. When he turned back around, Heaven had shed her jacket, and was tracing the point of the compass along her veins. He climbed onto the chair, forcing the weight of his body upon her.
“Go ahead,” he challenged. “I dare you.”
“It’s your fault.”
Haven pressed with all her might, breaking the skin. She felt the sharp pain as her vein ripped open.
