Behind the curtain...

Behind the curtain...

A Poem by Manta Ray Lily
"

Trauma when it's a toxic relationship

"
Rose tinted glasses shattered all around,
While I cried on my knees bent upon the ground.
Surrounded by frightening thunders all bright,
Compiled with overwhelmed tears on stormy night.

Had to extinguish the spark between us,
Was stuck with a dirty, redundant fuss.
Turned me into a love-sick paranoid,
Soaked in the emptiness of a depleted void.

Times where turbulent waves have stopped,
Choreographed my thoughts as this heart dropped.
Sunken deep into the memories of ours,
Inked my life with those scandalized scars.

Manipulated myself into talking to the moon,
Expected you to be there for me very soon.
That look in your eyes when we crossed our ways,
All my life, those are gonna be my ugliest days.

The pacing and structure of the story were expertly managed, keeping me hooked from start to finish. Every chapter felt purposeful, and the resolution was both satisfying and meaningful. It dedication to their craft is evident in every word they write.

Welcome friend
YOU'VE used a very clever meter.. throughout, especially the following,

'Had to extinguish the spark between us,
Was stuck with a dirty, redundant fuss.
Turned me into a love-sick paranoid,
Soaked in the emptiness of a depleted void.'
