The Dream

Another poem of mine from back in the day.

The last time I saw you

it was in a dream

Where happiness thrives

and hopes that beam

 

We were alone and happy

I really wanted to stay

But then I woke up

and you went away

 

So just like a dream

Love doesn't last long

Only then you begin to realize

That what you had is gone

 

I close my eyes so I can dream

But I can't get to sleep

So I lay in bed, soaking my pillow

Wishing I had you too keep
