Chapter Four: A Beasty Relationship

"

Alex faces the dreaded Monster that's been taking and eatting the villagers of Postalla. But will his strenght be enough to conqure the beast alone?

"

I turned around and gazed at Postalla from the base of the dreade mountain. The evening sun was close to setting behind the village's horizon line providing me with little time to spare. I headed back towards the mountain and continued to make my way pass the lush greens of thicket trees and shrubs. The more I made my decent up the mountain the lushes of greens steadly transformed into a rocky wasteland full of dust and the chipper chill in the gusts of wind that blew my way.

By this time my sight was guilded by the light of thousands of stars and the full moon that ruled as their king. With a steady foot I climbed up the rocky slope taking caution with every step. There were hints of the smell of stail blood in the air the further I made my way to the top of the slope, I must be getting close to the creature's nest. Finally the monster's cave was within my sights sitting on a more flat rocky surface then the slopes. Bones of both man and beast scattered the surrounding landscape some with rotted flesh others with freash orgians still attached to the skelentons. It was a grusome sight to behold.

The slope flatten out and I was able to stand without trying to keep my balance. Slowly I began to approach the cave knocking my boots against the bones that filled the ground around me. I took a peak inside the mouth of the cave but it was so pitch black it was impossible to see if the monster was home, let alone fight it. Allas I made my way further into the cave and the stinch of the beast grew to such a spell that the smell buried itself deep into my nose causeing eyes to water and stomaches to turn.

It seems that this cave was the perfect height and lenght for a colossus beast to call home... I just hope I'm strong enough to handle this on my own. Luck was on my side for the sounds of the beast slumber echoed throught the cave as I slowly made my way through it's dark caverns. With my father's sword already drawn from it's scabbed I press my hand along the walls of the cave which were moist and rough moving step by step to the noise of the slumbbering beast. The stinch and the noise grew so great it flet as if I was right on top of it's beasty nest of horror and as it turns out... I was.

My father's blade held high above my head ready to strike I tried to pick out the most logical spot to thrust which wasn't easy in this thick soup of darkness. I took a shot in the dark and thrust the sword and as it did I felt it pierce through flesh and bone. A bright pair of sky blue eyes the size of my fist flickered wildly through the darkness of the cave shortly followed by a terrifying roar of agony. I quickly took the sword back from the pierced flesh and sprint back out through the dark cavern's guilded by the moon light coming in through the mouth of the cave with the wounded beast bitting at my heels.

Reaching the edge of the cave's mouth I made a mad dash and dived just outside of the cave with my father's sword held close to my body in the light of the full moon. With a mighty leap the beast appeared from the dark. I watched it swor high above my head like a hawk and watched it land gracefully behind me like a crane infront of the magnificent moon. I got back to my feet under the monster's enormous shadow with my father's sword held fermly in my grasp.

There was blood dripping from the creature's blood stained teeth onto the rocky floor as it snarled and growled at my being. It's thin tail twirled uncontrolablly as it began to size me up, walking steadly closer waiting for it's moment to pounce. Stepping back just a little I wait for my chance to strike, curseing under my breath at the creature with each step it took. Over all I never really wanted to fight this beasty but I have to in order to free Maybel and get back the dagger away from the clucthes of William Hexium.

Without a moment's notice the creature charges me like a launched cannon ball ready to swip the flesh clean off my bones with it's giant jagged claws. I mannage to jump out of harms way but not without a nasty gash across my back from it's deveastating paw. The force from it's attack sent me rolling down the rocky slope from whcih I climbed. Thinking fast I stabbed the slope with my father's sword creating friction slowing me down from my demise. Dust from the rocks were slung in the air as I stopped halfway down the rocky slope.

The pain from the creature's slash was so intense I could barely keep my eyes open let alone stand to face the beasty,  I could even fell my blood trickle down my spine from the gashes. Looking up with blurry eyes I saw the creature rushing towards me down the slope with ease. Fighting through the pain I stumbled back to my feet to face the beast but once again my efferts were none for the creature gripped my leg with it's massive jaws causeing me to scream in horrible agony. I felt each and every one of it's teeth crushing through the bones of my leg turning it numb through split nerves in tissue.

The beasty started to drag my body up the slope with little effert. Kicking it's gigantic face I tried to set myself free but it was no use, the beast wasn't willing to let go. My body hit's flat ground as the monster drops me just outside it's cave standing over me like a mighty oak. The blue eyed beast sniffed my beatten body up and down assuring it's prize. Just as it opened it's mouth to reveal my jagged fate I swung my father's sword with all my strenght and sliced right in to the belly of the beast splatting out blood all over my body.

The beast roared in agony raising up on it's hine legs flinging it's claws in the air franticlly. I rolled out from under the creature and slung my father's sword right into it's white haired chest. With a short high pitched wine it topples on it's side soaking in a stew of it's own blood. Slowly I raised off the rocky ground dripping with sweat and blood from both me and the beast that now lies in defeat over these blood soaked rocks. Limpping towards the now battered monster I pulled my father's sword out from it's bleeding chest and with that a yelp slithered out from the beasties mouth.

With bleeding bangs I look past the drops of blood into the creature's sky blue eyes which were filled with saddness and woe. The beasty sheds a single tear as I raise my father's sword high above my head ready to decapitate and end this poor creature's life. It's not like I had anything personal against the beasty, it's just buisness.

I swung with all my might cutting the sword through the air making it's swift approach towards the monster's throat but just before it pierced flesh I stopped just an inch away from endding the beasties life. There came another noise from the depths of the cave, it was more soft and lent then the beasties roar of might. Two small white cubs appeared from the cave, they look to be only a couple months old. I couldn't help but for my heart to melt in shame for I was about to take the life of a mother; which in retrospect would mean that I would be no different then the b*****d who took the life of my own mother as well as my own father if I go forth with this evil deed.

The hour of midnight strikes apon me as I gaze up at the high noon moon in all it's glory. It will be praticully impossible to retreive both the dagger and maybel in time from the major... so what's the rush then? I lowered the sword away from the creature's neck and placed it back in it's scabbed. The beasty looked into my eyes with greatfullness and joy for she was too live another day in this unholy world.

With bloody footprints I limpped my way to a nearby boulder and sat down watching the beasties cub's lick and pawed at their mother trying to get her to play with them. The mother beasty slowly raised her head off the cold ground and began to lick her cubs all the while trying to hold back her pain from her open gashes and wounds. Watching this sceptical reminded me of my mother and how she use to take care of me even when she was sick. I didn't have the will to rob these cub's of their only family; I would of been just as sick and twisted as the b*****d who took my only family... I just couldn't handle that.

Surprisingly the mother raised herself off the rocky ground completely rather effertlesly dispite her server injuries and heads her attention towards me. I quickly rose to my feet holding onto the hilt of the sword waiting for another attack from the beast as it stood over me like a mighty giant but to my surprise it starts to lick my blood covered face clean. "Ha ha! Stop it that tickles! Ha ha!" I said laughing trying to push her head away from mine. The beast stopped her licking and heads back towards the dark, spooky cave she calls home shortly followed by her two precious cubs.

So here I am stareing up at the moon without a bounty to return with for that b*****d William Hexium. I suppose my only choice now is to take back Maybel and the dagger back by force... even if it means over useing the witche's curse in the process. But if it comes down to useing that damn curse I only hope and prey that it doesn't consume my soul in it's hellish wake.

Makeing my way down the rocky slopes towards theh lushes of the thicket greens which lead to Postalla the sound of russling feet arose from behind.  I turned around to see before me the mother beast with compassion and anger within her sparkly blue eyes. Then unexpectingly the beast neeles before me with such grace and beauty I couldn't set my sights away from this preformance. I didn't know why but for some reason this beasty wanted me to ride her, I don't know if this was her way of thanking me for sparing her life or if somehow she sensed I was in distress and wanted to help. Either way I made haste and took hold of her back with the beast traveling as if she was the wind herself manuvering passed all the lushes of greens, shrubs, and trees with ease towards Postalla. It seems that all luck as run out for the b*****d major and his people so better prepare yourself Hexium cause your a*s is mine to burn.
