Here Comes The Sun

Here Comes The Sun

A Poem by Richard M
"

We hear the news, commentary on the news 24/7, bombarded daily with facts and figures and we get so carried away, fixated by what we hear. This poem is a call to slow our lives, look around, LIVE!

"

words familiar, but
for something beyond
the noise of society,
the rage of society,
the ache in society.
all colours, all corners,
ripples, waves, undercurrents.
mindless directions,
shadows long, but
the same sun shines.

voices, voices
clamouring attention,
some soft, some loud,
discontented rumblings.
TV, radio, papers
screaming their headlines,
black, white .... red,
everyone needing their say.

paper white,
the hum, the buzz,
the day to day.
so much, so many,
all the time, but
these things make
our lives to tick.

morning news, just enough,
a knowing, an understanding, but
caught in the here and now,
so fixated on what is.
these things cling,
these things follow,
day to day to day.
there must be time for rest,
there must be time for slow.

the sun ....

for the simpleness of just a day, but
life, its worries cloud our way.
taking in a 'bigger' view,
always searching a patch of blue.
be concerned, not surprised, but
look instead with other eyes.
just to live the day,
to say the things we need to say.
somewhere to catch a little 'sun',
before our anxieties come undone.
other people and what they do,
that is them, but this is you.

that morning cuppa,
the clear light of day,
music's playing, it'll be okay.
each day will be what it will,
we'll stumble up that hill.
Family, friends always by our side,
to trust, to confide.

that we just slow and
take the time,
look for the sunshine.
don't let life run away,
change the mood,
change your day,

in her garden she finds peace,
a place where worldly struggles cease.
in his room the music plays,

don't lose days,
things running to
a misty haze.
need to find a happiness,
something absorbing, and
free from stress,
a place that serves
you best.

days happen as they will, but
life, it's out there ....
waiting!
