Source of Life

Source of Life

A Poem by Richard M
"

I have a friend who is an artist and will enter his work in an upcoming art show. I was asked to write a piece to be mounted alongside. What an honour!

"
Little streams gathering,
silent paths meandering,
converging, growing,
winding its way
through generations,
a timeless source of life.
Its beauty, stillness, peace,
a patient fisherman,
a speedboat shattering silence,
children's happy laughter
mingle with the chatter and
screech of birds in flight.
Infusing life into the land,
towns built by the river,
lifeblood of communities,
a dependency, a need,
downstream on and on
in its purposeful intent.

Your friend has certainly honoured you Richard asking you to do this. When I read your poem I thought of the Thames. It starts as a small trickle of water in the hills and builds up to be a mighty river over the miles meandering it's way on its journey to the sea. I also thought of all the moods on that journey, some peaceful some turbulent depending on the weather. And then I thought of the communities, the villages, the towns on its journey downstream and all the wildlife there for the looking. That is quite a journey you have taken me on Richard. I hope all is good with you and that you are keeping happy and well.

Water flows good bing life to plants, animals and people. Helping things grow as it travels along carving out a piece of the lands.

This particular river or stream is beautiful and giving of life as it flows. The imagery and the poem is peaceful

Hello Richard and I hope you are doing well. I liked the poetry. Ancient feel to the words and thoughts. Like old eyes seeing and knowing the truth. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

What pleasures little streams provide, if we take the time to slow down and relax a bit. Your description provides a lovely picture in the mind.
It is quite the honour your friend has bestowed ... well done Richard.
