YesterdayA Poem by Richard MIn the passing of a very dear friend, a beautiful old man, in his ninetieth year.
(in memory of our beautiful Brian)
For ten years you’ve been in our hearts, your laughter and smile are such a part, you lit up the room with that cheeky grin, opening friendships that light could get in, a friend to all who came your way, and being with you, always a better day! Over the years we shared our souls, age didn’t matter, our lives so easily unfold. We remember how wonderful the time we’d spend, never wanting those moments to end, but every time you left a smile, to be with you so worthwhile.
A favourite restaurant, your cheery face, forever linked with that place, remembering a soul everyone knew, so endearing was a love of you, someone loved so very dear, a familiar face by the year. We shared together so many things, your presence always gave us wings, celebrating milestones lots of fun enjoyed a tipple, well more than one, privileged to celebrate your ninetieth year, gathered round in birthday cheer.
We remember fondly yesterday, and the many things we had to say, lives enriched by the life we knew, you will never fade from our view. Remembering too of yesterday, a gentle soul that passed our way; someone loved so very much, one who came our lives to touch. Your seat now empty our hearts sad, but so many memories do we have, a friendship that happened out of the blue, we’ll have a drink in thoughts of you. Thank you for the privilege your life to share, friendships close in love and care, we’ll remember you in future years with love and fondness ever near. So honoured for paths that crossed, a love for you never lost, we’ll keep you close in our hearts, in friendship never will we part.
