Preface

I took one final breath, preparing myself for the inevitable. I would walk with pride, dignity and defiance. I am not a coward. I had been to hell and back, and I was going there again. I preferred it this way. When the stakes were high, when logic said no, I performed. This was just one more race. One more competition. One more challenge. I composed myself, and walked into the blinding light.
