Why Do My Eyes Sill Shed These Tears?

Why Do My Eyes Sill Shed These Tears?

A Poem by Desiree O'Neal

Let the pieces fall where they may

Let my heart crumble and break

Let me feel the pain

For I am alive

Pain is my gain

Let my feel the blood drip from my vain

Split my skin for eternity

For I am alive

Let my fingers be stained

Let my eyes feel drained

Let my feet bleed from walking my path

For it leaves behind all my ties

I have cried a thousand tears

And a thousand more for my peers

My soul has had its laugh

Suggesting its been awhile

Wow time has passed

Not wanting to grow old I do dumb things

Like flirting but it bumerangues

I’m back where I started with a sensation

I’m happy but why do my eyes still shed these tears

Have I just been to impatient

Author's Note

Desiree O'Neal
My mom sometimes asks me how I feel and I always tell her i'm happy, but there's always been that little piece of my that isn't happy, it wants to scream out and cry all the time. I have no reason to cry, it just comes out.

I love the words - let my feet bleed from from walking my path, it’s the rough terrain that makes it beautiful and the heart sore that makes us love deeper and push harder, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger... you become an ivercommer... there are different types of tears...some strengthen the immune system but I believe they all cleanse the soul, great words you use , well done🌹

Always see the game of life as an obstacle course.
You get so far and stumble.
Frustration drives you nuts.
Yet, when you eventually succeed. You drive yourself nuts for not seeing the obvious.

Reading this it feels like you haven't found a purpose in life and you still haven't found what you're looking for.it also sounds like you want to get used to the pain.i hope you find a way to fight through it.find a way to the light

I think you right, and i'll try.
Wow, I feel the emotions in this. The honest questioning, the tiredness, all of it. This is beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time.
