A Poem by Brandon Marleau
"

I'd say this is when our downfall started, directly after our most heated discussion about another man she desired.

"

In the face of betrayal

I spat on the floor

And turned myself away.

The heat of the moment

Pushed softly through

And there I was, in pain.

A fear for the future

A love the present

A hate for the past

Calling forth an end to my knowledge.

It could be perfect

I said so myself

And she sat in contemplation

For an outcome neither could predict.

The stubborn head; the broken soul

He found it and blasted it all

And there was my time, short lived

Yet, happy, to take my mind away.
