Understanding

Understanding

A Poem by Brandon Marleau
"

I'd have to say this is the beginning if I describe my little adventure in chronological order.

"

I never left a space for the place I called home

A broken face

A tattered shell

A history called up.

When the demon came

She stared at me

An attraction so strange.

I felt unworthy

And she so strong

To take away the pain.

I knew her most

In those sweet moments

The way she understood

The underlying cause

Of my uneasy ways

Her love to another had bloomed.

And this was the end

In that one moment

Though, sadly, I was never left forgotten.
