"Wasted"

"Wasted"

A Poem by SpeakingWords

“Wasted”

What’s so special about me?

Absolutely nothing.

I’ve tried so hard to change who it is I see

It’s no use some are meant to fill the space

Yeah I’m a waste, a talentless human being.

I never made it as an athlete; barely make it as a student.

My friends they wouldn’t even know just what it’s like to live the life I lead.

They’re all so perfect in each and every way

While I’m just plain old me.

I cannot say I’ll be better some other day.

What’s the point in trying to deny.

I’m filled with hate, I’m filled with anger.

Filled with shame, and filled with regret

I've been bitter, and I've been hurt.

Do you know what it’s like to spend your life doing nothing right?

When you never win, you always lose

You spend your nights thinking about what it is you’ll never be

I wish you did so that I wouldn't feel alone.

Alone in the way that I have to suffer while everyone tells me that I’m fine

It doesn't even matter. It isn't even worth the time.

I am who I am as disappointing as that may be.

This is my life and I have my chosen fate.

So keep on looking down on me because I’ll be the one who’s standing by your side.
