SpaghettiA Poem by JennyThis is the first proper poem I ever wrote and was kind of happy with I think. Just found it while having a clear out, has a lot of sentimental value even if the quality isn't great.Spaghetti I pull my chair out from the table, Place my plate upon the mat, I smile at my family, From this chair where I am sat. Fork fondling the pasta, Twirling round and round, A twist of complex knots, Is all that I have found. I rest my fork down on the china, The silver meets it with a clink, Staring deep into my bowl, From this I start to think... I am friendly, I am fun, I am outgoing, I am funny, I am loving, I am careful, I am happy, I am light, I am brave, I am open, I am simple, I am extroverted, I am pretty, I am forward, I am LIFE. My friends & my family, They have a complimentary view, What goes on inside, It would kill me if they knew... I am selfish, I am careless, I am nervous, I am angry, I am hurt, I am hurting, I am sad, I am scared, I am dark, I am closed, I am complex, I am introverted, I am backwards, I am lost, I am LONELY. I sit in my chair at the table, My cold food still on the mat, My mother, she looks at me, No clue where I am at. I look into her face, 'Are you alright?' she asks, Face creasing with concern, I smile and replace my mask. I say 'Nothing Mum', 'Just nothing' I say, My face opens into sunshine, & I tell her nothing.
