Poem for a Lost Maple

Poem for a Lost Maple

A Poem by Sel Whiteley
"

My boyfriend mourns the loss of the Francophone Canada

"

Maple,

Translucent, crimson,

blowing, bending, breaking,

like tongues, windswept, erased.

Uprooted.

Oh, the pain of bereavement, the despair of extinction. Cathartically articulated.Reminded me of Bob Dylan and how time always changes...

This gives me the feeling of the fall and the knowing what that season brings forth. Dormant times with Winter ahead.. Great write :) x
