Untitled Poem

A Poem by Sel Whiteley
"

just a thought

"
I lost myself too long
in the land of the invisible.
On this planet, people
can live a designer lifestyle
they plagiarised
from the pages of a magazine
and be happy while we
anachronistic misfits,
chase dreams forever.

who wants to be happy anyway? give me the ragged joy, the stained, worn, threadbare hope. the truth that sings on the cliff's edge, and the struggle, hard-won, and not glossy in the least.
chase on, glad to mis-fit.

this one splendidly potrays the hypocrisy that people adorn today..i could so relate to this piece..agree with Siddhartha..would rather be an anachronistic misfit..than give up on my dreams..

Oh yes! and ain't we poets loony. people mock us. the society makes fun of us but tell you what given a choice i would rather chase dreams and make sand castles all through my life. beautiful piece this. honest and moving.
