ExpectationsA Poem by Connor BurnsExpectations These expectations are thrown on me, as if i should fulfill them all Everyone yells and screams at me, that all I'll ever do is fall
I fear that everytime I try, each attempt will have its flaw They are only hypocrites, I am torn by their claw
I cannot be what you want, for that I apologize Hate me for what i am, for I have no disguise
Why can't I be smart, or want a real career This is all they ask, while they scold and sneer
This Misery comes back again, back with open arms, I've fallen so low again, vulnerable to all harm
Can I not do anything right, will I always be so wrong I try as hard as possible, to find i am not strong
Expectation, you have won, so kill me one last time Merry go round til' the earth fell down, My life no longer sublime
Disappoint and destroy is all I can do, all that I've ever done right So for this very last time, remove me from your sights
You only speak to tear me down, and tell me not to try So watch the effects of your anger, while i wither away and die Goodbye
