Misery Loves My CompanyA Poem by Connor BurnsVery dark but something that came from deep within me.
Misery Loves My Company
Misery, a never ending silence waiting to be heard,
Yet pushed away and shunned, it never said a word.
Looking for a friend to enjoy for a while,
Choosing me through my depressing denial.
Tied to these shackles I remain today,
Struggling and dying I slowly decay.
My soul has been ripped away from me,
By Misery himself, ever so gently.
So as many people claim to be my friends,
I keep Misery as permanent company to make amends.
This struggle I’ve started so soon shall it end,
As this blurring line slowly bends.
For which is reality and which is fiction,
Misery continues his evil affliction.
Overtime I have come used to these internal scars,
Caused by Misery under these fateful stars.
So once again I make amends.
To watch these blurring lines of my life slowly bend.
