Auden faces trouble and surprising news is revealed.

I sat alone in the dark room listening to the footsteps above. A man coughed then a chair was pulled across the room “So Auden” a deep voice said “Mr. Copses.” Auden snapped back. “Very well then Mr. Copses when was the last time you saw Miss. Faye?” the man asked. “I’ve already told ye now please show yourself to the door if that is all you need.” Auden said then stood up and walked to the bookshelf. From the small spaces in the floor I could see the large man sigh then pull out another piece of paper “Mr. Copses please come sit down I’ve yet to finish questioning you.” He said. Auden turned on his heels and walked over to the desk, flopping down in the chair and waving his hand to tell the man to go on. “Well sir shall you go on or am I to sit here all day and stare at the wall?” Auden asked. From the tone of the conversation you could tell the man was frustrated and Auden was simply bored and could care less about the whole meeting. “Sir were you and Faye in a physical relation?” the man asked. Auden dropped the globe of water and straightened himself out “I believe that to be none of your business what so ever. Anything Miss. Caudwell and I did before that night is of no importance.” Auden said clearly upset. “My bad sir, did Miss. Faye ever seem like she was nervous or anxious when ye were around others?” he asked. “The only time we were around others was the night we met. Other than that we met in private.” Auden told the man. “So there is a chance that ye had a physical relation?” the man asked. “Sir I believe it is time for you to leave. William please escort this man out of the home!” Auden yelled. Another elf entered the room and took the man out of the study. Auden sat for a minute and waited till William gave him the signal then opened the door to the cellar. I slowly walked up the steps into the sunlight of the room “Faye you look stunning” Auden said while hugging me. The large wooden clock chimed as the hand reached two “what should we do with the rest of the day?” Auden asked. We walked down the hall to a parlor. The room was clad in green silk and beautiful white couches. All over the walls hung pictures of Auden’s father and grandfathers, occasionally a picture of a woman would be seen. Auden sat on a couch and motioned for me to join him. I sat down and wrapped my feet under me, leaning on him for support. The large window that sat across the room opened up to a huge pond and the garden. “It’s beautiful” I whispered. Auden wrapped his arm around me “not as beautiful as you.” He whispered back. His younger sister Audrina came skipping in and glared at me “Auden mother wants you in her study right now and leave the peasant.” She scoffed and skipped away. Audrina being only thirteen was very mature and knew that an elf shouldn’t be with a human none the less a peasant human. “Don’t listen to her Faye you know she’s just jealous. I’ll be back in a minute just wait here.” He said then got up to leave the room. Audrina skipped back in and sat across the room from me “Look at you, you filthy peasant.” She laughed. “Audrina is there something I can help you with?” I asked calmly. She scooted to the edge of the chair and glared at me “He’s my brother and should love me not you. I’m going to make sure they find you and send you back to that hideous dwarf for your whole life!” she spat then ran out of the room. A few minutes later Auden walked back in “They’ve made arrangements and we will be going to a house we have in the southern region.” He said while taking me by the hand and pulling me close. “We leave in the morning.” He smiled then kissed me. He held me tight and looked down into my eyes “Faye what is wrong?” he asked. I blinked trying to hold back tears “Audrina is going to help them find me.” I cried. “Come let’s go to the garden.” He suggested. I held onto him tight as we walked through the house out to the garden. William handed him a basket and opened the large door for us. The garden was much like a maze with large hedges creating walls. We made our way to a small area of roses that bloomed many different colors. Auden set out a blanket and helped me sit down then sat down himself next to me. “Faye you are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” He said while stroking my hair. I leaned against him and closed my eyes from the bright sun. For a while we sat silently and watched the birds and butterflies make their way along the garden. I looked up into his brilliant blue eyes and kissed his cheek “Auden is this love?” I asked. He nodded then kissed me back forcing me to the ground. Among the flowers, birds, and butterflies I was taken. Not in the cruel way Mr. Fedor forced himself upon me but in a loving and caring way. Like everything Auden did was to comfort and pleasure me. “Auden I love you.” I whispered as we lay together. His hand brushed against my cheek and his lips enclosed over mine. “I love you” he whispered and laid his head down next to mine. In the far corner of the garden we drifted off to sleep, our bodies intertwined and wearing nothing but our skin.

Slowly we walked back to the mansion not speaking a word. Auden stopped at the door and looked at me “Faye you mustn’t tell anyone what happened back there. It must remain our secret for now.” He said then helped me inside. His mother came running towards the door frantically saying something “Goodness children where have you been! It’s been three hours now please come and get cleaned up.” She said while shooing us to the bathing room. Two large tubs were filled with steaming water. A curtain was drawn in-between so neither person could see the other. “Now please do hurry we have company for dinner.” His mother said and pushed us into the room. We both lay in the tubs talking about nonsense till a maid came in and helped us to get dressed. In the large dining room sat four people, Audrina, her mother and two older men. Auden and I took a seat across from each other and said our hello’s to the guest. The dinner of goose and deer, along with other things, went on until eight. Finally the children were excused. “Faye come this way!” he yelled while running up the grand steps. I followed him down the halls till we reached a dead end. This time he opened the door into a small room that was barely lit. I followed him inside and sat on the bed next to him “Look up.” He said with a smile. I looked to the ceiling and was amazed to see it was glass and you could see all the stars in the sky. “Auden it’s amazing.” I said. By now the lanterns had gone out and the only light was from the sky. I scooted closer to him and laid my head on his chest. For the second time that day I fell asleep with the man I loved. Before the sun had fully risen the maid’s were urging us to get up and get ready. “Auden I don’t feel so well.” I said then ran to a bucket and threw up. Auden looked at me with wide eyes and I knew what he was about to say. Instead of normal humans the humans of Adventine would get sick one to three days after conception. Then three months later give birth. Everything else was the same though, sickness came in the morning and lasted throughout the day, feet got swollen, breast tender and eventually a bump. Auden sat up without saying a word and whispered something to a maid who went running out of the room. The rest followed after her and left us alone “Auden it can’t be. I’m just nervous that’s all.” I said and flung myself onto the bed next to him. “Shh Faye it’ll be alright” he said while rubbing my back. There was a knock at the door then his mother and an older lady walked in “Auden what is the meaning of this!” his mother screamed. He got out of the bed and walked her into the hallway to talk. The older lady came over and sat next to me on the bed “Hello dearie now why you crying?” she asked with a slight accent. “Ahh it’s because the news. Well I see, let’s try and figure this all out shall we?” she asked. I sat up and nodded yes. “Now how old are ye?” “Sixteen years ma’am” I responded. “Ok and when was the last time ye well you know” I looked down at the bed “Yesterday with Auden.” I replied. “Pricilla, Auden please come in here!” she yelled. Auden came and sat by my side holding my hand “Now I need ye to lay back for me and we’ll do a quick exam.” She said while rolling up her sleeves. I laid back and held onto Auden’s hand tightly “I’m right here.” He said and rubbed my hand. The woman pushed around on my lower stomach and the surrounding area. She sighed then moved her hand a little and felt around more. “Pricilla you may want to sit down.” She said. His mother sat in a chair next to the bed. “Ye seem to be with child.” She said to me. Auden’s mom let out a loud scream then fell to the floor. I looked up to Auden who was silent “with child” I whispered as a tear fell down my face.
