Canopy

Canopy

A Poem by Sparrow

canopy above my brittle body
please open your arms
and break my stride
I hold on
to feeble strings
as earth falls towards me
parachute of silk
don't fail a man in need
catch my soul
as I lay its mortality
into your cupped hands
