God's support line

God's support line

A Poem by Sparrow

Let slip a cry of complaint
Try to put your heart back together
By every law of the universe you must fail
For all that is created
Must malfunction
Yell all you want
God will not be bothered
And though you ask for aid
The question is basic
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I like the metaphoric principals of this. We pray to God in times of trial and so often it feels like he isn't receiving our phone call - how else can we reason that he continues to leave us in our silence and pain. Clever poem, enjoyed the read :)

"For all that is created must malfunction" - enjoyed this line especially

Y'know I'm not sure I'm entirely 'getting' this.
But I still quite inexplicably really like it,
and I believe after all that true poetry inspires without reason.
So well done.
:)
