Freedom from Religion

Freedom from Religion

A Poem by Rafael Montez
"

It's unconstitutional to say "God bless America".

"

Suicidal Muslims in Saudi Arabia

Call us terrorist

For being atheist.

Their no better than Jews thinking their magic people,

Claiming to be a chosen people,

Speaking peace yet blowing up people.

Treating uneducated women like cattle,

Sending misguided children out to battle,

All for an illusion that crashing a jet

Gets their bullshit filled Allah wet.

Intimidating with beheading videos.

We’re no better delivering death from drones.

Brainwashing is not a trade of us,

That one belongs to the religious

From Shiva to Jesus.

By us

I mean the U.S.

Where we have freedom from religion.

Homophobic Catholics hate relations other than hetero

Yet pedophile priest holding down boys are free to go

Which makes the juries mind blow.

Claiming a wafer and wine cure hunger,

They pass around a golden plate for taxation

Only none of it to heal starvation.

Those in poverty are wrapped in misery

While a Pope lives in luxury

As he gives his blessing to Ferraris.

Raising girls to be submissive prudes

Boys are taught their nature is cursed

With inaccurate sex-ed.

Brainwashing is not a trade of us,

That one belongs to the religious

From Shiva to Jesus.

By us

I mean the U.S.

Where we have freedom from religion.

Freedom is not the right to discriminate,

It is protection from forced religion

And propaganda filled education.

Freedom to practice belief and skepticism

With equal expression for all isms.

Laws based on subjective morality

For a species that is evolutionary.

For all that oppose this peace

Have fun living life a lie.

Brainwashing is not a trade of us,

That one belongs to the religious

From Shiva to Jesus.

By us

I mean the U.S.

Where we have freedom from religion.

Second paragraph, first word should be "They are" I hear what you are saying in your poem, but it sounds like your prejudices against organized religion are just as strong as those in organized religions as it relates to ideologies. And by the way, we do not have freedom of religion in the US. Try being open about paganism or atheism. You will be ostracized in the workplace and in your neighborhood.
