Winter

Winter

A Poem by Spammy_J

Icy air traces my skin

With rough fingertips

Like a familiar hand

Sending a shiver down my spine

In the pattern of snowflakes

Falling ever so

Soft

And ever so

Sweet

Men fall in love

With rosy cheeks and snow-kissed lashes

Ruby lips and the chance to unwrap
The layers

Upon layers

Upon layers

Of fabric

Lovers lay hidden on snowy days

Tucked under quilts and pillows

Becoming breathless as they move

Air stolen from their lungs

From the shock of the heat

Against their frozen hearts

Their limbs intertwine like ribbons

On the most precious gift

To ever be given

Tongues swirl like candy cane stripes

And the wind drowns out their

Cries
