Love from a perspective

Maybe I'm still holding on to you in my heart  because I still trust that you'll finally be better,

 

So that no one else enjoys what I laboured for. Because it was my tears, my screams, my love, my warmth, my understanding that changed you, if you change...  maybe.

or am I a gold digger? I see you going places and I want to take advantage of your love for me.

 

But then again, am I so bad for wanting to be the only one to make you smile? Is it wrong when I make sure I'm the reason for your joy? Am I wicked for wanting to be your strength?

But I'm tired, I'm scared for me. I'm scared to dissolve in your being.

 

I'm terrified to lose myself in you and I know I don't have that  same effect on you.

 

I want to fight for air. I want to fight for me. She's drowning and no one is saving her.

What if I can BE without you? What if if I start to swim I'll more than survive? What if I can be happy ..without you?

I fear I have began to believe that you are enough for us. That  I don't need me.

What happens if I let you go and you never come back? What happens if the fairy tale of us ever finding ourselves remains just that, a fairly tale.

Not real  life. Because life isn't that beautiful... not without you.
