Hallucinations

Hallucinations

A Poem by Fréyjä Helvití

Piercing rocks and twigs scar my naked toes

And all around me screams the silence and woes

Lifted from fear, driven by sorrow

Of gothic dreams and no tomorrow.

Whispers from the wind devour my soul,

I shiver with fright, I lose control

The full bright moon illuminates ahead,

As I lay beneath the sky with dread

A reflection obscures all truth I see

Consumed by the life in my sanity

Remorse and death shall take me there

To where the ashes of my shattered heart could bear

Beings of darkness I dare not define

Comparable to demons, damned, horrid, nay divine

Never shall they, nay feast on my soul

Never will they take what’s left of my all

Soon the hour of darkened times shall fall

The Holy One Divine will give His call

Dark or Light, we bow to His presence

The only light that will brighten the decadence.

Wow! The depth to this piece is brilliant... Dark and full of mystery.

"A reflection obscures all truth I see
Consumed by the life in my sanity
Remorse and death shall take me there
To where the ashes of my shattered heart could bear"~ The heartache is felt. Well done!

Vittoria, WOW! This is so moving! I'm in awe, sitting and reading your poem again, digesting it, each stanza a feast. Thank you for an expression which, for me, is so vivid and a declaration which pierces me.

A mysterious write indeed. I find comfort in this darkness you described though, instead of fear. I'm still not quite sure why, it struck me as beautiful. A sad comforting beauty. Well done!

"Soon the hour of darkened times shall fall, The Holy one divine will give his call." I love this it is so dark but gives off so much light. You never cease to amaze me with your words. You have an incredible talent and when not if you get your own book of poetry i want it because your s**t is epic. Ms lady you are the s**t.

Your words carry a weight of shadows. I dig the format, and your style is very refined. Nice work.

You are a muse of macabre brilliance my friend. However, you might want to go over again with the few technical lapses like syntax and "Whispers from the wind devours (devour) my soul" but nah, it's just a tiny miss. And a few suggestions if you don't mind:
The Holy One Divine will give His call (it sounded a bit off. you might want to consider "The Holy, the Divine one will give his call- can be with or without "one") It gives profoundness to the element (God). And you might want to tweak "Dark or Light, we bow to His presence". A little odd in the continuity of your tone.
Nevertheless, a fantastic piece and I took delight on it :)
