The Terrible Beauty

The Terrible Beauty

A Poem by Doug

So soft, so chill

Blanketing, blowing over the hill-

Falls day, falls night

Calm killer, beautiful sight-

Fortress Man cannot stand

When gentle white heavy lands-

Covers one, buries all

Calm killer, beautiful sight-

Backdrop brown, backdrop blue

Casts all in deceivingly innocent hue-

Reflects the mind like bright moonlight

Terrible killer, beautiful sight-

It's going to take me a while to adjust to dark writing, and I see some beauty in this, I liked it. Rain..

A very good poem full of visuals despite its size.
