Impression of Loneliness

Impression of Loneliness

A Poem by Sourav

Sinking in the quicksand of loneliness

A desperate soul still searching for a company

A friend, a hope, piece of life- love;

A known voice of an unknown person

Rises from the deep

Words of solace and peace,

A passing shower of joy over my heart

Then there is a silence " horror of loneliness

A desperation of finding that voice

And in that voice I find peace.

The desert is never ending

The journey is tiring

Quest of becoming nobody to somebody

Suffers and moans like a motherless child;

That cry echoes alone, all alone

Up and down with the wind

Gathers like a cloud to fall like a rain

Upon the desert of loneliness.

Between the thoughts of my mind

And touch of my fingers- lies loneliness

Then word drops one by another

On a blank paper; on a empty screen

To create, - a poetry may be

Or just an impression of loneliness

Signed in pain by the ink of dejection.

Oh this is such an captivating tale of introversion and pain. In fact reading this evokes similar feelings. Great job.

Writing then reading what and how we feel .. it's a saturation point where loneliness is finally displayed, where others are invited to share, to help, to understand. Such a sad and heartbreakingly personal poem.

Your writing has a unique feel, and flows well. The emotion is palpable. Emotion is what makes someone's work a great read. Nicely done.

This is different. I like the imagery and the thought here. It doesn't really have a proper flow, maybe you wanted it to be prose like. It is good.

I understand the loneliness,
You have written about it well,
But loneliness with dessert?

Desert loneliness is not sweet.
It is cold and long into the sad soul.

Please consider fixing the typo by replacing "dessert" (edible treat)
with the proper "desert" (lonely sand).

This was a well written poem, you captured the panic of loneliness quite well. Not everyone can seem to find peace or solace in it, and to those it drives them crazy. Great imagery as well, keep up the great writing.

This is a really strong poem. I especially like the mixture of the physical with the metaphysical. You employ classic symbolism, like a never-ending desert, to show the lack of emotion that tires the body. The last stanza is simply outstanding reminding us that poetry comes from the pain of our emotions and particularly that this without these emotions it would be hard to write. As Owen reflected, "The Poetry is in the pity."
