chapter 1 and 2

 

Chapter 1

 

Sad Beginning

 

 

 

I'm an out cast as people would tell me. My only friend was my mother. She dies recently of breast cancer. I don’t know how I'm going to survive with out her, she’s all I have. My father left when I was born, and he never looked back.

            I sit here in my limo, not wanting to go bury my mother. That means she’s gone, and will never come back to me.

My mom used to say “things happen for a reason hunny, that’s the way of life.”

I hear a knock on the window.

“Mam” a slit pause “mam people are starting to arrive”

            As I slowly exhale, the limo door opens and I step out to look at all the people surrounded by my mom’s coffin. I take a deep breath and push my self forward. I put on a brave face but there was nothing brave about it. I thanked everyone for coming and tell them in meant a lot to me. I put sun glasses son so that no one could see my eyes and how much I wanted to cry.

            The minister began to speak.

                        “We all are gathered here to put heather Craig to rest” a pause “the lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; he leadth me beside the still water. He resteth my soul; he leadth me in the paths of righteousness for his name sake.” A long pause.

            “Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparst a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all in the house of the lord forever.’

 

            The minister closes his bible. Tears slowly run down my face. I close my eyes and see my mother smiling at me. When I opened my eyes no one was there. Just me and my mother.

            I slowly walk up to her coffin and drop the pink rose I was holding. I smiled and said “I will always love you forever and ever”

 

 

 

 

 

 

            I arrived at my empty house, regretting the times I took my mom for granted. I only wish she was here right now to see how much pain I'm in of loosing her and how much I want to scream at her for leaving me. I miss her so much. The pain is just unbearable.

            I walk slowly up the stairs to my room. Watching the memories go around in my head. I sat on my bed and heard something fall off. I reach down and picked up a white envelope with my name on it. I took a deep breath and open it. The hand righting was my mother. Tears begin to sting my eyes as I read.

            Dear Viper,

           

           

            There are many things I have not told you the past few years. I hope I could tell you face to face instead of a letter. I’m going to tell you the truth about your father. I’ve always told you he a banded you and me and wanted nothing to do with us. I lied. He’s always wanted you in his life I just never allowed it. So I took you and vanished so he would never see you again. He lives in Romania I want you to go see him. I want you to go stay with him. I know you’re probably thinking mom I’m 21 I can take care of my self, I know that hunny but i want you to get to know him. He deserves to see you and you deserve some happiness in your life. Maybe you will meet someone special over there like I was telling you to do for years. I wish I told you this sooner but I had no way of knowing I was going to die. Now, don’t cry for me I know it hurts but I’m some where nice and you made me than happiest mother in the world. I love you hunny, please stay safe.

 

           Love always,

                       Mom

 

 

            I drop the letter to the floor and lay my head on my pillow and weep.

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 2

 

First Meeting

 

 

 

            As I pull up to my father house hoping he knows who I am and that he will forgiver my mother for keeping me away from him for many years.

            “This is my chance to finally meet my father. So I knock on the door. The door slowly opens to a big guy wearing nothing but leather.

            “Can I help you” the big guy says.

                        “Umm….. Yes I’m looking for johno Cortez” I say with a shaky voice.

            “Please follow me” the big guy says. I follow him into this beautiful dinning room. There was five men sitting at this enormously long table. The big guy walks into the middle of the room and says.

            “Dad, there’s someone here to see you”.

An old man about in his fifties stands up; he stopped talking and looked up to where I stood. He took a deep breath and took a step forward.

            “It can’t be, that’s not possible” a deep breath “Viper is that you, please say that’s you and I’m not hallucinating” he said

            Yeah johno it’s me” I said

The big guy cuts in “dad what's going on” he said

            My father turned to him and said “Justin it’s about time you know that this is your baby sister.” He said

            The room went silent.

My father walked forward. I try not to show that I’m nervous.

            “Where’s your mother, I thought she would never let me come see me.” He said.

            “My mother died last week, she had breast cancer her last wish was for me to come see you.” I said

            He flinched as if I struck in across the face. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose I seen a tear slip down his face. Everyone just stared from me to him not knowing what to say.

            “Dad are you saying that I had a sister all these years….. And you never told me”. Justin said.

            ‘I had no other choice Justin, her mother kept her from me ands thought I would never see her again that’s why I never said anything about her” he said.

           

            Justin looked at me as if he wanted to chop me into pieces and eat me for breakfast. I started to get really nervous as he started to walk towards me. I had to look up to see his face.

            “May I ask why you are wearing sunglasses in the house, there’s no light in the house” Justin said

I hesitated “because I don’t want anyone to see my eyes” I said “does me wearing sunglasses bother you” I said sarcastically.

            He went to grave the side of my sunglasses but I graved his hand before he took my sunglasses off. Everyone took a deep breath. Apparently no one has ever had the nerve to stand up to him or so I thought.

                        “I don’t like to be touched, you try that again and I will break your fingers on by one, Got that” I said

He looked at me with angry eyes “do you think you scare me, one your half my size, two I could take you down with my hands tied behind my back” he said.

            I took a step back

“I need to leave it was nice meeting you guys but i have better things to do then be insulted by this barbarian.” I said.

            My father stepped to Justin’s side “please don’t leave, stay for a couple days, please let me get to know you” he said he looked at me with pleading eyes.

            “Fine but I’m keeping my sunglasses on” I said. And my father started to laugh.

                        “Of course if that’s what you would like” he said.

He came over and gave me a giant hug that took me by surprise.

            “I can’t breath” I said

“Oh him sorry” he said then he let go and put me back on my feet. I looked at his happy face.

            “I’m pretty tired do you think you can show me to my room” I said

“Oh yes, yes of course Justin why don’t you show viper to her room.” He said

                        Justin sighed.

            “Of course dad” he said

He started to walk away through the doors and up these big winding stairs I’m following him up every step. We finally get up the stairs.

            I stopped and took a deep breath.

Justin turned and stared at me. “Getting tired pretty bird” he said as he led me to this beautiful furnished room.

            “Don’t ever call me that again” I said.

                        “This is your room, you will learn to trust me I’m not a bad guy you know” he said as he turned and walked out of the room shutting the door quietly.

            I sighed and sat on the bed.

“How am I ever going to trust them mom I don’t even know them” I said to my self.

            I walked to the big glass sliding doors, it opened to a balcony. The wind was blowing the trees were swaying like the branches were hands and they were raid up to god. Green grass blades were peeking thought the snow spring was coming. I was thinking what my mom used to say when I was little before I went to bed. “Rest your head for your dreams will come and leave your thoughts through in the green leaves.” She said

            I never knew what she meant by that but I guess it’s too late to ask now.

 

 

 

“Dad how do you expect her to stay here. She’s human she will find out what we are and she will run away screaming.” Justin said to his father.

            Johno took a deep breath hoping that would never come true. He started to pace back and forth, trying to figure out how he was going to handle the situation. Finally he came up with an idea.

                        “Justin we are just going to have to deal with it because I’m not turning her away not from all these sleepless nights wondering if I’m her father and trying to tell her I love her. She stays here and that’s that if she finds out what we are the we will just have to handle it from there okay end of story” he said.

            Johno went back to his chair at the head of the table. And sat down and took a big gulp of his scotch thinking how he was going to tell viper what they were without her running from them. He didn’t want to loose her but what other choice did he have either way he was going to lose her in the end and he only has a couple of days to convince her to stay for good.

            Now how is he ever going to do that?

sounds good up to now but!! it seems a bit mixed up.
who tapped on the limo window and called you mam ?
how can you be the baby sister ?
surely you are the first born, therefore the eldest.
few spelling mistakes but that can be sorted.
word of advice, dont rush the story, your missing important information
