A Reason To Fall

Long lashes

drinking in deeply

a reason to fall

Five years old again,

naked she brings in her knees

shriveled  up on the dirt floor

shattered and bleeding into

irreconcilable pieces

sobbing to imaginary happy endings.

A ghostly man crouches in the corner, and warmly smiles,

"Do you remember what you taught me? Now teach yourself again. "

a reason to fall.

a reason to rise.

she walks out into the sky, 

dances into lightening and falls 

as rain, down into the earth 

settling in for respite.

:: i think the image here lingers and has a conversation with life and the universe... there's a sense of 'self' blending with nature... and the pain... the pain is just so vividly etched that it reaches the reader instantly... as if it were a character in the story of the narrator...
