The Dance

The Dance

A Poem by Dean Smith
"

Just a thought I had the other day...

"

Sometimes I sit and wonder,
What makes a man go under,
Where do they go,
When all they know,
Is not knowing,
Where they need to go,
How can they find,
Their piece of mind,
When the piece of mind
Is not theirs to find.
So to answer this question, please answer me this,
Does the dancer who’s dancing,
Need ‘the dance’ to exist?

Wow, this is really good! I like the conundrum of questions you presented. It really makes the reader sit down and think after reading this. Does a dancer need the dance to exist? No, but if there is no dance then they wouldn't be a dancer, would they? The thoughts go on and on. Well written poem.

Nicely penned...
