Im Just a Bird In A Land MineA Poem by SoulSplatterSimplicity in my morning cup of coffee,
illusions never lie, do they? They comfortably perch upon my tongue, creating artificial concepts of reality. contrite clouds mark the sky, spilling their sorrows as I make my way home. Do they weep for me? They say the grass is always greener on the other side; when I hop the fence, desperate to be free, will I find it to be dead? You find happiness in my simple gestures, illusions do lie, don't they? Or is it just me? I'm the liar. Every time I smile at you, I am lying. Happiness has eluded me. A caged animal never reaches it's full potential. Let me go. for I am just a bird in a land mine; wherever I lay to rest may be the end of me, or perhaps... A new beginning. © 2013 SoulSplatter |
