Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by SoulSplatter
"

The Fear Of Drowning

"

Thrashing abortively against the force.
All in vain,
the violent crashes keep me,
as brilliant blue overcomes
panicked breathe.

Below chaos lies
a hauntingly beautiful pitch.
The muffled silence drowns out
the hollow beating of my heart.

An aching inner swathe is failing life's hold.

I must choose to let go,
succumb to the serene abyss below.
In slow descend, the darkness engulfs me.
There is no going back.

Breathless fear erupts within
and in somber surrender...

I inhale.

a violently beautiful opening, 'thrashing abortively...' Following the vortex of thoughts that are whirling inside my head, I would say a suddenly feverish and somehow turmoil has seized hold of her (the protagonist) in place of her heart's slumber and torpor. It's like the descriptions are in fact the preparations that have to be made. All her energy is strained in order to think of everything, her heart beating and beating, thumping so badly that it be ones impossible to breathe. Really quite brilliant.
