Religion's Dilema

Religion's Dilema

A Poem by DarkPoet

"Heaven is the ultimate goal,
Yet weariness and tiredness plague my soul.
From fake smiles masking evil intentions,
To warm embraces concealing deliberate gifts of rejection.

Once, harshly I judged the penalty for,
Ananias and Sapphira's lies,
Till I understood that it is wicked to be mean but appear in a kind disguise.
Acting and claiming to be certain things,
Does not always prevent the traces of hypocrisy that slip from within.

Gradually waving goodbye to religion,
A million and one unanswered questions,
A puzzle it is that children of God, custodians of the love emotion,
Dissipate evil and cruelty in every single action.

Devoid of basic human feelings and decency,
But quick to judge their victims, finding solace in a bottle of Hennessy.
While others would rather choose Hell as home,
Since this epitome of righteous wickedness will serve as judges on Heaven's throne.

With you now, it is one day, one hour, one minute, one trouble.
The all-perfect sun shining your light on us, imperfect worthless rubble.
This fire you have started is burning,
And from its damage, there lies no remedy or returning.
