I Believe

I Believe

A Poem by DarkPoet

I believe in a better tomorrow
As I stay hoping for a better today
Sometimes it's neither black nor white just drab patches of grey
And both can feel the same either in joy or sorrow

I embrace the notepad as a confidant and friend
When scared to walk again in a path that has come to an end
Having to reread chapters long closed
Having to awaken after being a ghost

To be scorned where it was guaranteed compassion and empathy
To live in a country whose future is certain of uncertainty
To plan for Burgers and French Fries
And be served a bowl of humming humble pie

God have mercy will always be the prayer
Life sometimes excavates buried things later
For which there are almost always no paraphernalia
They come out like snakes lurking in weird corners of houses in Australia

Sometimes I participate in the shows
At other, I watch, wait, helpless as time goes slow
It's very evident, that the only thing that I know
Is how much in life I do not know
