I SEE YOU

I SEE YOU

A Poem by DarkPoet

I see you
Withered and crumpled in a pile of trash
All the courage to hope and dream dashed
High, then dropping at the bottom of bottles wasted
Cursing out the day it was decided that you should be created

I see you
Daily masking up with a smiling face
Battling with the voices whispering you are a waste of space
Drowning in the pit of a secret addiction
That began as a means of escape from the pain of incessant rejection

I SEE YOU
Daily wishing and hoping you will make much money
So the darkness can be exchanged for a bit of sunny
You could buy yourself some amount of dignity
And desist from being the object of pity

I SEE You
Struggling to find your voice
Lost,drowning in all the noise
Isolated and lonely in places where you should belong
Wondering how easy it is for others to feel among

I SEE YOU
Struggling under the weight of Shame
Bad choices and genuine mistakes cost you your name
You will give anything for another chance
And in life an elevated stance

I SEE YOU
Thinking of how it will feel to be loved unconditionally
To you love is an alien non existing part of your reality
A vital need that you have been starved of emotionally
For you have been deemed undeserving so you built walls to shield your vulnerability

I wish I had solutions and answers
I don't;so I go on my knees and say prayers
Most times I feel like an alien in this place
So I hide behind my pen and you hardly see my face
