Hope

Hope

A Poem by DarkPoet

A visit was paid to me someway
Unhappy I was that again it came my way
Somehow if found its way through my heart's doors
My refuge invaded,it walls shattered on the floor

Each thought came as a severely dealt blow
Swinging my soul from its high to the deepest lows
My knees gave in,I took the fall
Devoid I was of strength to for help call

Bound I was by these feelings in quietness
Alone submerged in the darkness
Alternating between laughter and tears
Remembering my past,hopes and fears

Looking for a glimpse of the sun shining
Behind the dark clouds a silver lining
These words from the Holy Book in my mind flashed
"And it came to pass"

An assurance that this too will not last
It will eventually go either slowly or fast
Though held down by a grip so tight
I won't give up,I'll write and fight

Again it will all be okay
As I look on to better days
When I can be fully out of my shell
And all will be well
