Untitled 27

A Poem by DarkPoet

Bruised and badly battered
Painstakingly standing tall
Clinging on with hopes unshattered
Refusing to take the fall

For each day is a battle
One not always won
Still I'll persist and carry on
Fighting,refusing to in defeat settle

Sometimes I get so weak
And the future seems so bleak
Victory seems like the impossible
Life's mountains feel insurmountable

The dreams of light and someday happiness
Keeps me stringing along
For In my dark place a glimpse of brightness
I'll tarry this long

Even when all I gain is loss
And the prospect of light gets dark
I refuse to turn my back
As fighting is a must

Irrespective of the wounds from previous battles
That makes the prospect of happiness dim
Losing is sometimes inevitable
But shouldn't end a dream

Cos Once in a while victory comes
I lift my heads up high
My strength eventually returns
And weakness says good bye

For with victory comes the will power
To keep on fighting for the best life has to offer.
