Stranger

Stranger

A Poem by DarkPoet

Every time I look into the mirror, I see
A stranger staring back; me
Its sight leaves me visibly shaken
Sometimes I wish I were mistaken

For I see sad big eyes, tired of holding back tears
A mouth that trembles, afraid to speak of its many fears
A face that struggles to wear a smile
Though it has been sad all the while

Ears plagued by numerous tormenting voices
All rooting for one particular choice
Hands that quiver at the sight of another outstretched hand
Legs that are crushed daily and will soon fall to the ground

A body that exist with a mind that wants out
Feeling strange like an alien from the clouds
Doubting the basis of its existence
As another unfortunately coincidence

Born out of pain and trauma
As protection from all the negative drama
But trauma silently eats you up like a cancer
Everything you try leaves you feeling no different after
