New Year

New Year

A Poem by DarkPoet

Another new year
One with an entrance ushered in by tears
All I did last year was try to survive
Now I'm left wondering if in it i will thrive

Will mercy and kindness by the universe be a must?
Or in different waves of life's ocean would i be tossed
Will i bury my head in my pillows letting out agonizing screams
Overwhelmed by the fear of not being enough and an inability to dream

Would i eventually find solace in religion ?
Eventually discovering the 'right way'
Or continue to be tormented by the legions?
Dreading what will be brought by each passing day

Will i watch the flicker of hope grow
Or steadily hold on just to let go
Would I feel infinitesimal among my peers?
Bottling up my feelings, troubles and cares

Would i have a foreshadowing of what the new year will bring
As I ceremoniously stay in the house of worship to sing
"Hallelujah its a New year" while still so sober
Because I know I know .......its all over.
