SCAPEGOAT

SCAPEGOAT

A Poem by DarkPoet

On the head of the scapegoat lies their sin's weight
Crushing its head as it is pushed out its home's gate
Wandering in dolor alone in the wilderness
Nothing but a cruel case of insidiousness

Innocent scapegoat what are you going to do?
For them you keep paying the price
They step on you for them to rise
For their actions and sins they keep on punishing you

Daddy's had a very bad day
So he whips you up for you dared to play
Mummy feels your presence is a gory sight
So you know around her you must take flight

Siblings feel you are a mistake of creation
They all leave you hungry devoid of love and validation
Alone you wandered around in the wilderness
Weakened by its pain, blinded by the darkness

Soon you learnt to love and call it home
Because it accepted became your very own
And it had people like you too
In groups of four threes and twos

You thought were the one and only
But not the only want with a strange story
For misery loves and always has company
And you realized "there will always be someone for me'

You eventually found your own tribe
Day by day you slowly get by
Turning lemons to lemonades
With newly found comrades

Slowly you will discard your filthy past
And find freedom and love at last
You will someday not have to feel inadequate
Like you being on earth was inappropriate
