Untitled 15

Untitled 15

A Poem by DarkPoet

Dark and gray the colors existing inside your head
From dawn till sunset when its time for bed
Silently you watch life go before your eyes
Maybe a shock therapy could warm this heart of ice

They believe you are something really special
You wish you can provide for them a thing so essential
So blinded are you by your inadequacies
That your flaws are all you can see

Oh what will it take to get your undivided attention?
What will it take to free your mind from its self imposed detention
Maybe you are the universe's way of testing all that they attest
And see if they'll continue to love you with zeal and zest

Oh if only you could explain how you breathe in life
And it goes out like blood gushing from an injury caused by a knife
How you try to speak of your pain but words fail you
Like a prisoner impaled with little or nothing to do

Maybe someday it will be alright
If you don't give up but hold on to hope tight
Till then dark and gray remains the colors in your head
When it turns we will all be very scared
