SCARS

SCARS

A Poem by DarkPoet

My skin was a canvas displaying the grotesque marks your whips made
My mind recalled the intense pain
I stare at the scars and sometimes felt afraid
And vowed that no one i know will go through such an ordeal again

For you said it was punishment for my behavior
Blows to my face, lashes on my back to redeem my soul
I cried for the help of a savior
No one came to save me from your execrable goal

My nights were just as tortuous for you constantly violated my body
While cursing and swearing i will never be somebody
That my body belongs to you
So you can do with it as it pleases you to

One day hell was let loose
I got tired of the torture and abuse
I mustered courage to make the hard choice
Of speaking up against you with my voice

I'm getting the much needed help
Its hard, sometimes for no reason i yell
And I am thankful for the ugly scars
They led me and others in my shoes to the beautiful place we now are!

Painful to read. I'd say the dude is lucky you didn't own a Glock.
