Untitled 7

A Poem by DarkPoet

I took off at early dawn
Before the rooster crowed
Your heart couldn't be my home
No room for my darkness in your sun

Before now our paths had crossed
Igniting slowly a gentle flame
With no drive in me ,i was at a loss
I burnt out so you could forget my name

I wondered if you'd still be here
If you discovered all i couldn't share
If you'd really liked me for me
Or the make believe illusion of me

I should have given you a chance
But they weren't mine to give
We could have gone on a date or a dance
A lie of your truth i chose to believe

We could have had stayed together
I chose the possibility of never
I had my doubts that you'd really stay
So quietly i walked away
